Statistics pane

The statistics pane lists for each value column in a table:

The statistics pane is a split window which can either be shown or hidden. If it is shown it will always be shown at the bottom of the table window; you cannot drag the statistics pane to another position on your screen. If you like, you can change the height of the statistics pane. The order of the statistical values is fixed and the values themselves cannot be edited.

Figure 1 below shows part of the Rainfall table. In the upper part of the picture, there is the table view pane showing the names of the rainfall stations (domain of table) and the rainfall values for the months March and April (columns). The statistics pane is shown in the lower part of the picture.

To hide or show the statistics pane:

The statistics pane is shown when a check mark appears in front of the menu command.

Upon closing a table, it is stored whether or not the statistics pane is shown in the current table. This will then be used as the default setting to show or hide the statistics pane when the table is re-opened later on.

To change the height of the statistics pane:

When you have dependent columns, and when input data has changed, the values in the dependent columns may still reflect the situation of the 'old' input data. The statistics pane will then also show 'old' values.

 

To copy statistics to clipboard:

To copy the statistical values for all columns to clipboard, copy the records in the statistics pane to clipboard.

Tip:

To calculate other column statistics, such as Standard error, Variance, Covariance, Correlation, Student's t-test or a -test, choose Column Statistics from the Columns menu of a table window.
